Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly

Chatelherault Country Park 6k/10k/16k/20k - Trail Event
SAT OCT 17
Chatelherault Country Park 6k/10k/16k/20k is a chip-timed trail race series in Hamilton, located at Chatelherault Country Park on Carlisle Road in Ferniegair. Up and Running Events organizes the series, offering runners a choice of 6k, 10k, 16k, and 20k routes, suitable for both shorter trail runs and longer park runs. The routes are measured, and each runner collects their race bib and attached timing chip from the registration desk on event day. The chip must be worn on an outer garment for the timing system to read it correctly. Entries are processed through Let’s Do This, requiring an account for registration. Finishers receive a medal, and hydration is available at the event.
Perth Running Festival
SUN OCT 18
The Perth Running Festival begins and ends at Perth Racecourse in Perth, Scotland, with the Half Marathon start located before the grandstand. This road running event offers three distances: a Half Marathon, a 7.5km race, and a 1 mile fun run, also known by the racecourse-style name “8 Furlong.” The Half Marathon course is flat and fast, suitable for runners aiming for a personal best or those new to the distance. The route traces the River Tay, goes by Scone Palace, and incorporates North Inch parkland before crossing parts of the city. Most of the course utilizes traffic-free park paths, riverside stretches, and paths around the racecourse, blending open green areas with urban running. The shorter races remain near the racecourse and adjacent paths, whereas the Half Marathon extends further along the river and through the adjacent parkland. Scone Palace provides the event's primary historical connection, linked to the Stone of Destiny and the coronations of Scottish monarchs.
Chatelherault Trail Races October
SAT OCT 24
The Chatelheroux Trail Races take place in October at Chatelheroux Country Park, located in Hamilton, West of Scotland. The races commence at 10:00am from the ML3 7UE postcode area, with Up and Running Events managing the event. Participants can select from 6K, 10K, 16K, and 20K distances, accommodating both those seeking a shorter run and individuals aiming for a longer trail challenge. The courses traverse the park’s woodland paths, riverside trails, and undulating countryside within the historic estate. The terrain varies throughout, offering more diversity than a flat road race, featuring sections alongside the river and expansive views across the country park. The location defines the event: a focused race day centered on trails, estate pathways, and the natural surroundings of Chatelheroux, distinct from urban races.
Auchterarder 10K Chilli Trail Race
SAT OCT 31
The Auchterarder 10K Chilli Trail Race follows the outline of a chilli pepper on the map. This 10 km trail and country-road race is based in Auchterarder, Scotland. It begins at Community School Auchterarder and proceeds towards the Ochil Hills. Runners, joggers, and walkers can participate; there is no cutoff time. The race has a Halloween theme upon its return. The route consists of approximately 5.6 km of trail, 3.4 km of country road, and 1 km of dirt road, distinguishing it from a flat road 10K. It ascends 245 m, peaking at 233 m. The course features forest tracks, consistent uphill stretches, quick descents, and two stream crossings. Marshals are stationed along the course for safety. The route is shared with participants before race day and published on Facebook. Five Star Events is the organiser, with Fiona Watt serving as race director.
Pollok Park 5K & 10K November
SUN NOV 1
Pollok Park 5k/10k
SUN NOV 1
Pollok Park 5k/10k takes place on a Sunday morning through Pollok Park’s green spaces, offering a choice between a 5K or 10K distance. This park-based event features a mix of road and path sections, with marshals providing support along the course, ensuring it is not a self-guided run. The route winds through woodland paths and open parkland within the park, giving the race a more sheltered and natural feel compared to a city-street circuit. All finishers are awarded a bespoke Up and Running medal, and the event concludes with music and refreshments post-run.
Bellahouston Park 5k/10k/Half Marathon - November 2026
SAT NOV 7
Holyrood Park 5k/10k/Half Marathon
SUN NOV 8
The Holyrood Park MoRun begins at 9:30 AM in Edinburgh’s Holyrood Park. Runners will assemble near Queen’s Drive for this November charity event. Adult participants can select a 5k, 10k, or half marathon, while children can compete in a chip-timed 1.5k Mini MoRun. The courses wind through Holyrood Park, centering the event in one of Edinburgh’s most distinctive natural areas instead of a typical city-centre route. This event is part of the MoRunning series and benefits Movember, an organization that raises funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. The event is designed for everyday runners, families, friends, and children. Fundraising pages or donations can be made during registration, and MoRunning t-shirts and vests are available for those wishing to embrace the Movember aesthetic.

Glentress Winter Trail Half Marathon
MON NOV 16
MoRun d'Édimbourg 1,5k, 5k, 10k et semi-marathon
SAT NOV 21
MoRun Edinburgh takes place in late November in Edinburgh, Scotland, offering four distances: 1.5 km, 5 km, 10 km, and a half marathon (21.0975 km). As part of the MoRun series, its flexible format allows participants to select a distance suited to their preferences, rather than a single mandatory race. The 10 km is the most frequently chosen distance, with the 1.5 km option providing a shorter route for families and novice runners. The event welcomes beginners, seasoned runners, couples, and families. The Edinburgh location allows participants to explore city sights and heritage along the road courses.
Glasgow 1.5k, 5k,10k & Half Marathon MoRun
SUN NOV 22
Glasgow MoRun takes place in November at Glasgow Green, starting near Nelson's Column. The event features four race distances: a chip-timed 1.5k Mini MoRun for children, and 5k, 10k, and a half marathon (21.0975 km) for others. It is part of the MoRunning series, connecting running with Movember and men's health fundraising. The races are held within a city park, making the format suitable for families, novice runners, club athletes, and those aiming for a longer distance. The Movember theme is central to the event. Participants use the day to raise awareness and funds. Awards extend beyond race times, including medals for the fastest MoBro and MoSista, and spot prizes for best dressed, best moustache, and other MoRunning accolades. All finishers get a MoRunning medal and headband. The event also provides refreshments and rewards for future participation.

About 10K races in Glasgow

Glasgow Training Notes

Glasgow hosts 38 10K races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Locals keep running simple in Glasgow. Kelvingrove Park gives the West End short-to-medium loops, and the tree-lined Kelvin Way is my favourite route out. Victoria Park gives a steady 2km tarmac loop when you want controlled laps. The River Clyde gives flat running all the way to Cambuslang for easy Z2 base miles. Glasgow Green suits flat and fast work, and the Clyde Walkway runs 40 miles when the legs want distance. The Hares and Hounds, Springburn Harriers, Bellahouston Roadrunners, Shettleston Harriers, HWJ Run Club, Outlier Run Club, and Glasgow FrontRunners keep the week busy. Great Scottish Run, Brian Goodwin 10K, 3K on the Green, Run The Blades, and Glasgow To Edinburgh Ultra anchor the calendar.

Locals ride from paths to punchy hills without leaving the Glasgow habit. Kelvin Walkway and Clyde Walkway suit easy spins, while National Cycle Network Route 7 and Route 75 keep longer miles joined up. Glasgow Nightingale Cycling Club has riders in road racing, TT, track, CX, and MTB, with a mid-week chaingang or a hilly weekend training ride often starting in Torrance or Strathblane. Glasgow Green Cycle Club, Glasgow Ivy CC, Glasgow University Cycling Club, Torvelo Racing, VC Glasgow South, and Scottish Cyclo-Cross Association add more options. Cathkin Braes brings singletrack and the highest point in Glasgow. Kilpatrick Hills bring gravel north of the River Clyde. Crow Road Hill Climb is 2 km and climbs 905 m, and it gives you the proper test.

Spring, summer, and autumn give Glasgow its best training block. Summer still brings rain, because Glasgow is the rainiest city in the UK, but locals just keep waterproof gear close and get the work done. Long evenings make Pollok Park, Kelvin Way, Glasgow Green, Cathkin Braes, and the canal towpaths feel handy for intervals, Z2, and after-work spins. Winter changes the kit more than the plan. Glasgow generally does not get significant snow, but the city gets dark early and wet often. Runners lean into lit loops and quieter streets. Riders need reflective gear, proper rain kit, and good lights for commutes, chaingangs, and steady base miles.
