Recurring 10K races near Wellesbourne

Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly

Alcester 10K
SUN OCT 11
The Alcester 10K begins and ends in Alcester, a market town near Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire. This 10-kilometre road race, organized by Raceways, is now in its twelfth year. The last event attracted its largest number of participants and sold out in advance, indicating that entry demand for this local race can increase rapidly. Participants depart from the High Street, proceeding onto Warwickshire country lanes for a single loop before returning to town. The route includes two aid stations, chip timing, finisher medals, t-shirts for all participants, post-race refreshments, and optional race photography. Following the finish, runners are conveniently located near Alcester’s cafes and pubs, rather than finishing in a remote field or car park.
Walton Hall 10K
SUN OCT 18
The Walton Hall 10K begins and ends at Walton Hall in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire (event base: CV35 9HG). This autumn 10K run and walk includes a Fun Run, with proceeds supporting Shipston Home Nursing. The event welcomes participants beyond solo runners, including walkers, families, company groups, and teams of friends. Individuals can register alone, form a new team, or join an existing one. Solo entrants must be 16 or older; children under 16 require accompaniment on an adult registration.
Tamworth 10K
SUN OCT 18
The Tamworth 10K begins and ends within the grounds of Tamworth Castle, providing a distinct landmark from the outset. This 10K road race takes place in Tamworth, Staffordshire, typically in October with a 10:30 am start. Its flat, fast course is suitable for runners aiming for a personal best, as well as those seeking a straightforward autumn race. The route crosses the Castle Grounds, proceeds into the town, follows a canal path in Fazeley, and then circles back to the castle area for the finish. KP Tamworth is the organiser, and chip timing is employed. Results from previous years are available, and Runner’s World previously ranked it as the fourth-best 10K in the UK.
Birmingham Running Festival November
SUN NOV 1
The Birmingham Running Festival takes place on a November race day in Sutton Park, offering 5K, 10K, half marathon, and junior race options. It is structured as a late-season event, allowing runners to conclude their year with a short race, a longer effort, or a family-friendly junior run. The routes incorporate Sutton Park’s historic roads and gravel paths, providing a mix of firm running surfaces instead of a typical city-street course. The half marathon begins first, with the 10K, 5K, and junior race following later in the morning. The event also provides support for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Run Alton Towers Half Marathon, 10K & 5K 2026 Staffordshire, UK
SAT NOV 14
The Run Alton Towers Half Marathon, 10K & 5K features chip-timed races within Alton Towers, located in Staffordshire, UK. Participants can select from a half marathon, 10K, 5K, or a children's race, accommodating families, novice runners, and those seeking a greater challenge. The course winds through the park grounds, distinct from typical town-road routes, setting this event apart from many local race weekends. It welcomes participants of all skill levels, with all finishers earning a distinctive themed medal. The event also supports Team Peter Pan.
Coventry 10k Charity Fun Run
SUN NOV 15
The Coventry 10k Charity Fun Run is a 10 km race held entirely within War Memorial Park in South Coventry. The start and finish are located inside the park on Kenilworth Road. It features a flat, accurately measured course with chip timing, suitable for runners aiming for a personal best and those participating for the charity aspect of the event. The route consists of a 1105-metre section followed by three laps. Water stations are available along the course, and results will be published post-race. MCC Promotions organizes the event, which benefits Acorns Children Hospice. Participants receive a bespoke medal, with spot prizes and trophies awarded to the top three finishers. The park has a history of hosting sporting and entertainment events. Essential race-day facilities are provided, including toilets, changing areas, baggage storage, First Aid, parking, and access via rail and bus. On-day registration is also available.
9 Locks Challenge 10K Winter
SUN NOV 29
The 9 Locks Challenge 10K: Winter is a traffic-free canal run from Stourbridge toward Merry Hill, following the Delph Locks. It starts at the Bonded Warehouse in Stourbridge, finishes at the Brierley Hop House, and uses chip timing. Coach transport is provided from the finish area back to the start area. The route runs along the Stourbridge Town Arm from Amblecote, turns onto the Stourbridge Canal near Ashwood Park Primary School, and continues through Hawbush past The Wordsley School. It then goes into Buckpool Nature Reserve, loops onto the Stourbridge Extension Canal, returns to meet the Town Canal, crosses Moor Street around the 4-mile point, and passes Waterside Business Park into Brierley Hill before reaching Merry Hill.
Birmingham Running Festival December
SUN DEC 20
The Birmingham Running Festival takes place in December at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield. The start and finish area is located near Park Road. Participants can select from a half marathon, 10K, 5K, or a Junior race. This event accommodates both individuals participating in their first organised run and those aiming for a final personal best before the year concludes. The half marathon begins in the morning, followed sequentially by the 10K, 5K, and the Junior race. The park setting is central to the event, offering a large green space within Birmingham as opposed to a city-street course. The day is intended to be friendly and festive, welcoming friends and families to attend for the shorter races or the children's event, in addition to the longer distances. The race also benefits local charities, including the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which delivers pre-hospital emergency care, and Birmingham Children's Hospital.
ATW Mallory Park Winter Run - Half Marathon, 10k and 5k
SUN JAN 17
The ATW Mallory Park Winter Run features several races at Mallory Park Motor Racing Circuit: a half marathon, 10k, 5k, and Fun Run. The unique aspect is the location: runners race on a motor racing circuit instead of streets or lanes. The event is designed for cold-weather running, with options from a family Fun Run to a fast, flat half marathon. The course follows the circuit, offering closed-road running, consistent footing, and a venue suited for speed. The 5k is for a moderate winter challenge, while the 10k is for those seeking a tougher race. Wheelchair participants begin with the half marathon, and the Fun Run welcomes all ages and fitness levels, creating a diverse field compared to a typical club race.
Mendip Aurora
SAT MAR 20
Mendip Aurora is the closing race of the Dark Skies Series, with 5K and 10K night trail options starting at 7:30pm. It uses the grounds of Mendip Activity Centre near Churchill in Somerset, with the start listed at BS25 5PQ. The 5K route is traffic-free and runs around Sandford Quarry and the activity centre grounds; the 10K is two laps of the same course. The ground is undulating, with a few climbs, and runners do the whole thing under moonlight rather than in daylight.
Coventry Half Marathon & 10K
SUN APR 11
The Cardiff Half Marathon is a flat road race held in Cardiff, Wales, typically on the first Sunday of October. It originated as part of a larger Cardiff Marathon event, but the full marathon was discontinued as the half marathon gained more attention. The race is now managed by Run 4 Wales, a not-for-profit organization, and frequently sells out, attracting over 27,500 participants. It is included in the SuperHalfs series, alongside Lisbon, Prague, Berlin, Valencia, and Copenhagen, drawing runners from the UK and internationally, not just a local field. The route passes through several of Cardiff’s landmarks, such as Cardiff Castle, the Cardiff Bay Barrage, the Pierhead Building, and Roath Park Lake. Its predominantly flat course is suitable for those running their first half marathon, club runners aiming for a fast time, and elite athletes, who may receive complimentary entry. The event has staged World, Commonwealth, British, and Welsh half marathon championships, with the Welsh championship consistently featured. Notable past participants include Tanni Grey-Thompson, Mo Farah, Ranulph Fiennes, and Scott Mills, and the race was featured on the television show Casualty as the fictional Holby Half Marathon.
Tewkesbury Half Marathon
SUN APR 11
The Tewkesbury Half Marathon is a closed-road half marathon in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, beginning at 9:00am from Tewkesbury Leisure Centre. It is a town-based road race, with traffic-free running through Tewkesbury’s historic streets rather than an out-and-back on open country roads. The route goes through the town centre, passes Tewkesbury Abbey, and includes sections beside the River Severn before returning to a central finish. The main appeal is simple: a straightforward half marathon distance on closed roads, with the abbey, old streets, and riverside stretches providing runners clear local landmarks along the way.
