Doggie Dash 5k
The Doggie Dash is a dog-friendly race held in conjunction with the Indianapolis Monumental Mile in downtown Indianapolis. It is designed for runners and walkers accompanied by their dogs. Each participant receives a doggie bandana, a race shirt, bib, finisher medal, downtown parking voucher, and a post-race beverage.
The start and finish lines are located less than two blocks apart, facilitating packet pickup, spectating other races, and reaching the start line with a dog. Beyond Monumental donates $5 from each Doggie Dash registration to Friends of Indy Animals. This organization collaborates with Indianapolis Animal Care Services to promote the safety, health, and adoption of homeless animals in the city. Participants have the option to register for additional mile waves or the 5K, with each distance or wave requiring a separate bib.
Reidsville Family YMCA Turkey Trot
The Reidsville Family YMCA Turkey Trot is a fall 5K held at the Reidsville Family YMCA. A virtual 5K and a 1-mile fun run are also available, allowing participation at a distance or a shorter, family-friendly option.
The race supports the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, which provides local residents with affordable programs and services. These funds cover scholarships for memberships, swim lessons, sports, and child care, making the event accessible to families, kids, beginners, and community members of various ages and abilities.
DPS Education Foundation Turkey Trot 2025
The DPS Education Foundation Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning 5K run held at Dan Daniel Memorial Park in Danville, Virginia. This marks the event's fourth year and attracts both runners and walkers, with over 300 participants.
The race begins at American Legion Field, providing a central meeting spot before the run commences. The course utilizes the River Walk Trail, making it a straightforward community run. Proceeds benefit Danville Public Schools students and teachers through the foundation's programs, initiatives, and scholarships. Families participate together, including returning runners Virginia and Gloria Keen, a mother-and-daughter-in-law duo who wore matching turkey shirts and tutus, viewing the trot as a shared activity before their Thanksgiving family gatherings.

River City 5K
The 39th Annual features a flat, fast course combining street and paved park trail. Run along the Riverwalk Trail by the Dan River. The River City 5K is an out-and-back route, starting and finishing on MLK Bridge. It's a chip-timed race; awards are based on gun times. Special pricing is available for runners 19 and under.
18th Annual BRIDGE2BRIDGE
Bridge2Bridge Danville is an annual spring race series in Danville, Virginia, featuring a half marathon, 10K, 5K run, timed 5K walk, wheelchair divisions, virtual 5K and 10K options, and a half-mile kids run. The half marathon begins earlier than the shorter races with a 3-hour limit, while the 5K, 10K, and timed walk start later in the morning. Wheelchair participants start five minutes before the matching non-assisted races, making the event more inclusive than a standard road-race schedule.
The event raises funds for cancer patients in Danville and Pittsylvania County. Bridge2Bridge Danville has generated over $1.14 million since its inception. The Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association uses these funds for practical needs including travel reimbursement, prescriptions, nutrition, medical supplies, prostheses, wigs, and patient support. Recent events have attracted over 1,000 participants, including families, walkers, runners, wheelchair athletes, children, and virtual entrants, all contributing to the same fundraiser.
