Half Marathon races near Wading River

The Great South Bay Run starts and finishes at Bay Shore Marina Park in Bay Shore, New York, with the Great South Bay and Fire Island visible from the finish. This annual road-running series, sponsored by Northwell Health, offers three USATF-certified courses: a half marathon, a 10K, and a 5K Family Fun Run. The Brookhaven Trail Half Marathon and 5 Mile is a fall trail race held in Brookhaven State Park, Wading River, New York. Both the half marathon and 5-mile race begin at 9:00 AM. Participants can select the full half marathon on the park's trails or a 5-mile route, accommodating both those seeking a challenging trail run and those preferring a shorter outing. Race-day check-in starts at 7:30 AM by the large red tent. Cash or card are accepted for same-day registration. The course winds through protected Suffolk County woodlands, featuring single-track paths, fire trails, sandy areas, and sections alongside ponds. The half marathon begins near the park entrance on William Floyd Parkway. Custom wooden finisher medals are awarded to all half marathon participants. Strong Island Running Club provides professional timing. Awards are given for overall finishers and age groups ranging from 14-and-under to 85+. Cash prizes are also presented to the top male and female half marathon finishers.
