About this race
The Peter De Mott Peace Trot is a Father’s Day 5K and 1-mile event in Ithaca, New York, held in Cass Park and hosted by the Ithaca Catholic Worker. It honors Peter De Mott, an Ithaca community member, runner, and peace activist who worked for a more just and peaceful world. The event begins in the morning and is designed for a wide range of participants: runners, walkers, rollers, strollers, skippers, and anyone who wants to move at an easy pace.
The race provides a fast course for serious runners chasing records, but the tone is also very family-friendly. Participants receive a newly designed collectible T-shirt, food is served after the run, and age-group winners choose from prizes described as practical, artistic, quirky, or unique. Registration can be paid normally, adjusted through a “what you can” option, or waived for participants who raise enough sponsorship support.
