About this race
Kankakee Krono is the Illinois State Individual Time Trial Championship, held in Aroma Park, Illinois, in late May. It is a USA Cycling-permitted road time trial organized by xXx Racing – Athletico, where riders race individually against the clock. The field includes Juniors, Masters, Para, Novice, and Elite riders, and the event separates TT bikes from road bikes so equipment differences are not combined.
The course is a fast, flat 17 km loop. Juniors and Para athletes race one lap for 17 km, while other categories race two laps for 34 km. Medals are awarded to the top three in each category, and Illinois residents can compete for State Championship jerseys. USA Cycling rules apply, helmets are required, and the race proceeds regardless of weather.
