2026 South Padre Island Muzicians Run 5k/10k

Live mariachis perform approximately every half mile at the South Padre Island Muzicians Run, a 5k and 10k run/walk on South Padre Island, Texas. The race is an evening event with chip timing for both main distances, plus a 1-mile option, aligned with a Dia de los Muertos theme. The course starts and finishes at Beach Waterpark, utilizing South Padre Island sidewalk and asphalt. The field is designed for speed-focused runners, casual runners, and walkers, offering age-group awards for the 5k and 10k. Post-race, participants receive tacos and a beer or margarita in a branded cup, followed by a Mariachi After Party. Each finisher receives a 5-inch medal and a mariachi-design tech tee. The event supports the South Padre Island Birding, Nature Center & Alligator Sanctuary.
