About this race
The Starlight Run is a 5K road race held annually in downtown Portland, Oregon, on June 5. It begins near Tom McCall Waterfront Park around 5:30 p.m. This event is Portland's largest fun run, attracting approximately 8,000 participants, and is integrated within the Portland Rose Festival.
The course follows downtown streets also used by the Starlight Parade, covering about three miles before a crowd of up to 200,000 spectators. Costumes are a key element, with a contest held before the race near Naito and Salmon. The start and finish lines are located by Rose Festival CityFair. With over 36 editions held, more than 120,000 individuals have participated, establishing it as a city festival tradition.
