About this race
Walk, Run, Read for Literacy is a 5K run/walk and kids race held in September at Coeur d'Alene City Park and Fort Sherman Park in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The main 5K begins in the morning, open to runners and walkers age 7 and up, with a $30 entry fee. The Kids Dash is for children 12 and under, and includes a free option for those 6 and under. A $30 virtual run is available for those wishing to support the cause remotely.
The 5K course starts in Coeur d'Alene City Park, proceeds along the Idaho Centennial Trail towards Post Falls, and turns back before the Highway 95 bridge. Water stations are provided along the route. The Kids Dash is contained within the park on a loop. This event benefits The Literacy Project of North Idaho, a volunteer-run nonprofit, with all proceeds directed to learners and literacy programs. The day also features a book swap and sale, with books available for $1, along with games, awards for the top three 5K finishers, and medals for all Kids Dash participants.
