About this race
The Great Wyoming Buffalo Stampede features a 10K run, a 5K run, and a 5K competitive walk, all starting from Wyoming Park on Third Street in Wyoming, Delaware. All races commence at 8:00 AM. The starting order places lead runners at the front, followed by runners sorted by pace, with the 5K walkers beginning from the rear. This event, organized by the Town of Wyoming and the Seashore Striders, is one of the five oldest road races in Delaware.
The USTAF-certified course primarily follows paved roads, winding through local orchards near Wyoming. Hydration is provided before, during, and after the race. Parking is available along the railroad tracks adjacent to the park. The Seashore Striders attract a broad Delaware beach running community; the club supports Rehoboth Beach and Lewes, draws participants from Washington, Baltimore, and Philadelphia, and organizes over 60 events annually, including seasonal races, weekly fun runs, and youth cross country.
