Running for The Edson is a 5K run and walk in Bay City, Michigan, located at the USS Edson, 1680 Martin Street. The event centers on the historic ship, with participants beginning their morning next to the museum ship instead of a standard road-race start.
The race funds preservation efforts for the USS Edson and benefits veterans. Its most unique feature is the start: an authentic cannon blast from the ship signals the beginning.
