4th of July 5K Run or Walk

The 4th of July 5K Run or Walk is an Independence Day morning race held at Babcock Ranch in Punta Gorda, Florida. Participants begin together at 7:30 a.m. in front of Lee Health on Crescent Loop. Both timed and untimed race options are offered. This event is part of the Babcock Ranch Summer Race Series, which also includes the Run to Remember 5K and Labor Day 5K. A per-race discount is available for those entering multiple events in the series. The 3.1-mile course follows paved roads and sidewalks within Babcock Ranch. Water stations are positioned at the halfway point and at the finish line. The race concludes on the Founders Square boardwalk, near the bandstand, with convenient access to restrooms, post-race refreshments, and spectators. Dogs and strollers are permitted, with these participants typically starting toward the rear unless competing for a fast time. All finishers receive a medal, and awards are presented to overall winners, masters divisions, and age-group leaders.
