About this race
The Grand River Color Tour Triathlon takes place in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. It consists of three short segments: a 2k kayak paddle, a 15-mile bike ride, and a 5k run. Kayaking begins in the morning, with check-in available earlier that day. Participants have options to simplify their involvement: they can opt to run the 5K only, rent a kayak if needed, or form a three-person relay team to complete the triathlon.
The course begins with kayaking on the Grand River, followed by the bike and run segments, giving it the feel of a local adventure race rather than a typical swim-bike-run event. A distinct feature occurs during the 5k run, where participants encounter color powder before the finish line. The race coincides with Eaton Rapids' most colorful season, and the relay format allows friends or families to share the event.
