6th Annual Summer Heat 5K Run/Walk 2026

The Summer Heat 5K Run/Walk is a trail race in Thonotosassa, Florida, located past Fellowship Baptist Church and near Flint Creek. Fit Together Fitness RC organizes the sixth annual event, which utilizes the Old Fort King Trail rather than a road course. This 5K is for runners and walkers, with specific rules: no headphones, no strollers, no pets, support animals permitted, and younger children must remain with an adult. The course is a key aspect: runners should anticipate uneven ground, hills, rocks, water, and wildlife along the trail. Awards are given to the first overall male and female finishers, the top male and female masters runners, and the top three in each 10-year age group. All participants receive a medal. The event includes a brief Gospel presentation, directs a portion of its proceeds to The Timothy Initiative for church planting, and continues support for Stetson Ministries via Steps for Stetson's 5K.
