About this race
The Empty Stroller Run & Walk is an October run-and-walk series in Pennsylvania for families affected by baby and child loss, and for supporters who want to stand with them. The main in-person event is at Berks County Heritage Center in Reading, featuring 5K and 10K races and a separate Remembrance Walk. Satellite events are held at Kish Park in Lewistown and Valor Field at Memorial Stadium in Scranton, with a virtual option available for participants anywhere.
The event raises funds for the Adalyn Rose Foundation, a Reading-based nonprofit supporting families grieving the loss of a baby during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood. Registration is required; children 14 and under participate for free. The Reading event anticipates a crowd of approximately 1,000 people. The foundation also provides immediate resources and remembrance keepsakes in 46 hospitals, linking the race directly to practical support for families following a loss.
