ALCAL Scoop Scoot 2026

ALCAL Scoop Scoot is a fun run and community fundraiser held in William Land Park on East Park Road in Sacramento. Participants use a 1-mile loop within the park and decide the number of laps they wish to complete, rather than adhering to a fixed race distance. The course, ice cream, and beer garden are accessible from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with runners and walkers able to begin at any point within that timeframe. It is designed for families, neighbors, and casual participants, prioritizing enjoyment over competitive racing. The primary tradition involves completing a loop, followed by enjoying a scoop of Leatherby’s Ice Cream, with flavors like mint chocolate, cookie dough, and vanilla offered. Chocolate and caramel sauce are provided, and adults aged 21 and over may visit the courtesy beer garden. Each participant receives a numbered bib, serving as a ticket for ice cream and beer garden access. The event generates funds for local nonprofits, including Project R.I.D.E., Ronald McDonald House Sacramento, Sutter Children’s Center Child Life Program, and UC Davis Children’s Hospital Child Life Program; sponsor contributions cover operational expenses like permits, safety cones, restrooms, police presence, insurance, music, ice cream, and beer.
