About this race
The Atlantic City Marathon Weekend is a road-race series in Atlantic City, New Jersey, typically held on the third weekend in October. The main event is a marathon beginning and ending on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, directly in front of Bally's Atlantic City. The weekend also features shorter races, such as a half marathon, 10K, and 5K.
The marathon follows a loop course, with approximately 8 miles run on the boardwalk, positioning runners alongside the casinos and oceanfront for a significant portion of the race. The wider AC Race Series covers a Boardwalk Run 5 Miler and an April Fools Half Marathon and 8K. The marathon's origins trace back to the early 1960s, with some uncertainty regarding the precise founding year, and it is the third oldest continuously held marathon in the United States.
