About this race
One day of the Badlands Badass Ride can start with a Wind Cave tour and end with bikes rolling past Crazy Horse. This supported June bike trip is based in Hill City, South Dakota, offering three nights of lodging, park entry, roving sag support, stocked aid stations, and ride leaders with a six-to-one rider ratio.
The route connects Badlands National Park, Wind Cave National Park, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park’s wildlife refuge, and the Black Hills National Forest. Riders will encounter gravel backroads, the Needles Highway, the Peter Norbeck byway, a Mount Rushmore stop, a possible steam-engine sighting, prairie dogs and buffalo near Custer, optional hikes at Sylvan Lake and Mount Rushmore, a Badlands day with 40- and 90-mile options, and route choices around 25, 50, or 75 miles on a Black Hills gravel day.
