About this race
This fourth annual community bike ride explores the history of Katherine "Kittie" Knox, a bi-racial woman cyclist and barrier-breaker from the 1890s. You'll learn about Kittie as a bicycling pioneer while riding and reflecting on issues of racial and gender representation in bicycling and advocacy today. NECCD will provide a historical site summary. This afternoon/evening ride starts near the Mount Auburn Cemetery Maintenance gate entrance, accessible from the Watertown-Cambridge Greenway bike path. Riders will leave in groups of 10 with a ride leader.
