About this race
The Bohicket 5K and Half on Seabrook Island is a Lowcountry race in South Carolina, featuring a half marathon, 5K run, 5K walk, and a virtual half marathon option. It takes place regardless of weather and is organized with the Kiawah-Seabrook Exchange Club, Charleston Animal Society, and Charleston Running Club. Proceeds from the race support these organizations.
The course offers runners views of sea island marshes, sections near the Atlantic Ocean, and roads lined with historic trees. Wildlife is present; runners might see island deer, various birds, and other native animals. Horses from the equestrian center have been observed running alongside the course from their enclosure. The event started as a 5K and 10K for the Lowcountry running community before expanding to its present 5K and half marathon format. Awards are extensive, covering overall, masters, grandmasters, great grandmasters, age-group, and age-graded categories, accommodating competitive runners, walkers, and local participants.
