About this race
Boise Front Trail Festival is a two-day trail running weekend at Bogus Basin Ski Resort above Boise, with a Friday evening Hill Climb followed by 5 Mile and 10 Mile races on Saturday morning. It is built around the Boise Front rather than pavement running, and the event ties registration to local trail care by donating proceeds to Ridge to Rivers.
The sharpest feature is the Hill Climb, billed as Boise’s only hill climb challenge and aimed at runners, hikers, peak baggers, Nordic skiers, and anyone who wants a hard uphill effort. The climb uses the shortest route to Shafer Butte, the highest point in Boise, with the finish at the summit and runners responsible for getting themselves back down. The longer festival races keep the same mountain setting, and organizers have looked at courses with more singletrack and a start and finish closer to the main lodge.
