About this race
The Canal Corridor Endurance Run is a flat 100-mile and 50-mile ultramarathon in Akron, Ohio, starting and finishing at Missing Falls Brewery downtown. Runners can choose the full 100 miles, a Front Half 50 Mile, or a Back Half 50 Mile, all on the Ohio & Erie Canalway. This course is designed for speed, suitable for first-time ultrarunners aiming to complete the distance and experienced runners seeking a personal best. The 100-mile race has a 30-hour cutoff, and each 50-mile race has a 15-hour cutoff.
The course follows the canal corridor through Northeast Ohio, providing a mostly flat route instead of a mountain-style ultra. The 100-mile event begins early Saturday, the Front Half 50 starts an hour later, and the Back Half 50 begins Saturday evening, offering an overnight experience. The courses are USATF certified and sanctioned, with the 100-mile race qualifying participants for the Western States Endurance Run lottery. The event is limited to 500 entrants and operates under local permits on public canalway areas, meaning runners share the route with the areas and communities it crosses.
