Central Park provides the setting for this run: familiar roads, steady company, and the atmosphere of a large local club event that expanded significantly. The Central Park FRNY LGBTQ+ Pride Run started 45 years ago, when running openly involved real risk for many members, and it still carries that history in every crowded starting area.
Expect runners, supporters, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and allies gathered with purpose, not just pace. Proceeds are shared with a club-nominated charity, with Housing Works connected to this year’s theme, “Hearts in Motion: United in Every Stride,” supporting healthcare, housing, and justice initiatives and showing the strength of the community.
