About this race

The Cheaha Challenge Gran Fondo, in its 32nd year, is Alabama's largest annual cycling event. Riders of all levels can choose the ULTRA course, which includes climbing Mount Cheaha, the state's highest point, or opt for a social ride like the Chief Ladiga Cruise. Some participants "race the course to get a fast time," while others have the "singular goal of simply finishing." The event draws cyclists from across the US and the world, offering a chance to "connect with other riders." Riders who do not finish the ULTRA course will receive the ashes of their burned shirt.
