About this race
The Cheesehead Chase begins and ends at the St. John Lutheran Church parking lot in Plymouth, Wisconsin, located at the corner of Smith Street and East Main Street. This community race takes place on a summer morning and offers three options: a 5-mile run, a 2-mile run, and a 2-mile walk. Participants in the run receive chip timing from Tortoise & Hare Timing LLC. The walk provides a shorter, less competitive choice on the same schedule. Both the run and walk commence at 8:30 a.m., with on-site registration available from 7:30 a.m. The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions.
The course is straightforward: participants convene at the church parking lot, select either the 5-mile distance or the 2-mile option, and return to the same starting point. Following the 5-mile race, children aged 5 and under are invited to participate in a free Cheese Curd Race, adding a local flavor to the day. The Plymouth Professional Business Women are the organizers, and funds raised benefit Safe Harbor, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, as well as scholarships for continuing education and other community initiatives by the PBW.
