About this race
The Circle City Donut Dash is a 5K run and walk in Indianapolis, starting at 9:00 AM from Fowling Warehouse on East Brookside Avenue. Runners can choose a regular 5K, a Donut Challenge, or a virtual 5K. The donut version adds the race’s signature twist: participants eat a dozen donut holes halfway through before heading back to the finish. The event raises money for Teachers’ Treasures, an Indianapolis nonprofit that gives school supplies and classroom resources to teachers serving students in need.
The day leans hard into the food theme, with Jack’s Donuts, coffee, milk, pizza, snacks, drink tickets for adults, Kahlua samples, and free games at the post-race party. Awards go to overall and age-group winners in both the donut and non-donut races, and there are donut-themed costume prizes for individuals and teams. Kids 7 and under can join the non-donut 5K with a parent for free, though they are not timed unless registered. Licensed teachers who sign up get an extra shopping trip at Teachers’ Treasures, which supports nearly 6,000 teachers a year and has distributed $94 million in supplies since 2000.
