Community Cross Country Summer Series Fun Runs

The Community Cross Country Summer Series Fun Runs consist of five low-cost Thursday evening races in July, held at the Maxwell Park/Parkside JHS cross country course in Normal, Illinois. The start is located next to the softball fields, and each race occurs within a one-hour period from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Participants have the option to pay for individual races or purchase a season pass covering all five events. Each race night is divided by age and distance: an 800-meter run for participants aged 8 and under, a 2-mile run for those aged 14 and under, and a 3-mile open run for all ages. This structure allows families, school-age runners, club members, and adults to use the same course without congestion. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in age groups ranging from 6 and under to 70+, with the final Thursday featuring a trophy presentation.
