About this race
The Community First Fox Cities Marathon, presented by Miron Construction, takes place over a weekend in September in Wisconsin's Fox Cities, with events centered in the Appleton and Menasha area. The schedule offers more than just a marathon, including a full marathon run/walk, a half marathon run/walk, a half marathon competitive walk, a relay marathon, a 10K, a 5K, a kids fun run, a diaper dash, and a toddler trot, alongside an expo. The main marathon, half marathon, and relay begin early in the morning. Shorter races and children's events provide accessible options for families and less experienced runners.
The series attracts thousands of participants, including runners, walkers, volunteers, spectators, local businesses, and community partners. Operated by a 501(c)3 nonprofit, its community impact is integral to the event. Over its 34-year history, it has contributed over $1.3 million to area nonprofits, community partners, and running organizations. The event's mission of health, wellness, and community is reflected in a weekend that accommodates competitive runners, relay teams, walkers, children, and toddlers with distinct start times.
