About this race
The Crozet Trails Crew 5K/10K Trail Run + Family Fun Run is a fall race held at Claudius Crozet Park in Crozet, Virginia. Proceeds benefit the Crozet Trails Crew, the local organization constructing trails and greenways connecting Crozet with Western Albemarle. Participants can select a challenging 5K trail run, a capped 10K trail race, or a short family route; all races include a participant T-shirt. Children under 7 may enter the Family Fun Run without charge when accompanied by a registered adult. Volunteers assist with parking, timing, and trail support.
The 5K begins and ends in the park, then proceeds along a rustic trail east of the park, featuring roots, rocks, and ruts. The 10K circles Lickinghole Basin and crosses Lickinghole Creek, meaning participants should expect wet feet. The Family Fun Run goes by the dog park and utilizes a new three-quarter-mile trail extension intended to link with downtown Crozet. The first-place finisher in the 5K receives the local distinction of having a bridge named in their honor. The Trails Crew is also fundraising for a new 50-foot bridge at Lickinghole Creek. Post-race activities at the park include fresh pancakes, Starr Hill beer, and live music by Susie and the Pistols.
