Death By a Mile

Death By a Mile is a Black Wolf Endurance hill-loop race held at Skeetawk Ski Area in Palmer, Alaska. Participants run repeated one-mile climbs within a selected time limit, with options for 12, 8, 6, and 4 hours, in addition to kid loops. The event takes place in October, marking the conclusion of the Black Wolf Endurance season. The course incorporates the Meadow Loop trail and the Altitude gravel path. The Meadow Loop is 0.54 miles long. Runners may select the direction for the Meadow Loop but must complete a full loop before returning to the start tent. Aid stations provide water, electrolytes, and snacks. The Skeetawk Yurt offers a space for runners and crews to purchase coffee and warm up between efforts.
