Dino Dash 2026

Dino Dash is a free family run/walk at Maple Avenue Nature Park in Terre Haute, Indiana. It is organized by the Vigo County Public Library as part of its Summer Reading program. Participants can choose one loop around Maple Avenue Lake for a 1K or five loops for a 5K, accommodating children, casual walkers, and those seeking a longer run. The event aligns with the library’s Family & Community and Health & Wellness programming, offering a relaxed atmosphere distinct from a typical road race. The course involves circling the lake once or completing five laps. The event features a dinosaur theme, encouraging participants to dress as dinosaurs, dino-wranglers, or chaos theorists, with staged “dinosaur attacks” along the route. Participants receive a small dinosaur figurine as a prize. Complimentary water, music by DJ Danny Wayne, and local food vendors are provided. Spectators are welcome, and parking is available across the street at Ouabache Elementary School.
