About this race
The Duck Waddle 5K is a May morning run and walk in Estes Park, Colorado, built around Lake Estes and the Rotary Club’s Duck Race Festival. It starts at 9:00 a.m. from the Lake Estes Trail near the east side of the Estes Park Parking Structure, with race-day registration and packet pickup handled there that morning. Entry includes a Duck Race ticket, or “duck adoption,” tying the 5K directly to the festival fundraiser for local Estes Park charities.
The course makes a counter-clockwise lap of Lake Estes on the Lake Estes Trail and finishes on the north side of the lake, west of the Lake Front Parking area. The race is open to all abilities, and its rules make room for families: strollers and friendly dogs can join for free. Awards go to the top overall men and women, masters winners, and age-group runners, while the extras lean local and informal, including an optional Duck shirt and a race-day beer at The BARREL or Rock Cut Brewery.
