About this race
The Eddy Trail Races begin and end at Chi Rho Center, located south of Lake Sylvia near Annandale, Minnesota. This trail running event offers two primary distances: the Big Eddy 50k and the Eddy Half Marathon. Both courses traverse Stanley Eddy Park Reserve, a terrain with hills that increase the challenge compared to a flat road race. The 50k distance slightly exceeds its advertised length, running approximately 51 to 52 kilometers.
The Big Eddy 50k route features frequent aid station access, with a central station passed six times and three additional stations visited twice each. This setup ensures runners receive support regularly while remaining on the trails for the majority of the race. The half marathon combines roughly eight miles of trail with three miles of gravel and brief paved segments near the start and finish. It includes three aid stations, one of which is encountered three times. Chi Rho Center provides on-site lodging and meals, allowing participants to stay close to the start and engage with fellow runners throughout the weekend. Post-race, runners have the option to swim in Lake Sylvia, and complimentary professional race photography is available.
