About this race
The Feeling Loopy Trail Race is a timed loop event held on private trails at a family-owned working cattle farm in middle Georgia, situated between Macon and Columbus. Organized by Soil Mates Trail Races, participants can select a 1-hour, 4-hour, or 8-hour duration, with all runners beginning simultaneously at 8:00 am. The loop measures 4.37 miles; completing three laps approximates a half marathon, six laps a marathon, and eight laps surpasses a 50K. The 1-hour option offers a flexible cutoff, whereas the longer races enforce strict time limits.
The start and finish areas are located in a large open pasture, providing free parking and ample space for crews along the course. The majority of the route consists of a five-foot wide grass path through pastureland, delineated by guide ropes and arrows. Approximately 1.8 miles traverse singletrack forest trail featuring turns, roots, and rocks. Each loop includes roughly 385 feet of elevation gain across runnable hills and flatter sections. Wildlife sightings may include cows, deer, rabbits, armadillos, turtles, and turkeys. The race is cupless, with water available for refills near the start/finish and at the midpoint of the loop. Participants in the 4-hour and 8-hour races also receive race food, and the participation shirt is exclusively for those who complete the event.
