Firecracker 5K & 1 Mile Sparkler Run 2026

The Firecracker 5K is a short Independence Day race in Annandale, Minnesota, offering a 5K and a 1 Mile Sparkler Run/Walk. Both races begin and end near Annandale Municipal Park, at the center of Annandale's 4th of July Celebration. The event is integrated into the town's holiday gathering, not on a separate course. The mile starts first, followed by the 5K, with both events suitable for families and competitive runners. The course starts and finishes near 300 Oak Ave N, close to the park and celebration area, with street parking available. The race supports the St John's Lutheran Church Children, Youth, and Family Fund, and other Annandale groups that help with the event. Awards extend beyond standard age-group results: the top three men and women in both races receive cash prizes, first-place finishers get an event picture frame, and there are separate awards for the fastest stroller mile, the fastest combined 5K and mile time, and the best 4th of July themed outfit.
