Forbidden Forest 30 Hour Ultra Trail Run
Saturday, October 3, 2026 · Stratford, United States
About this race
The Forbidden Forest 30 Hour Ultra is a trail race held in Roosevelt Forest, Stratford, Connecticut. It runs from Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon. Participants have 30 hours on a 2.23-mile loop, with options to complete a marathon, 50K, 50 miles, 100K, 100 miles, or further. The runner accumulating the most miles when time expires is the winner; achieving 100 miles earns a buckle but does not guarantee victory.
The loop is short, uneven, and characteristic of New England terrain, featuring roots, rocks, rolling ground, and up to 201 feet of elevation gain per lap, including a significant incline known as “OMG.” The sole aid station is located at the pavilion, offering food items like PB&J sliders, sandwiches, pizza, potatoes, and breakfast sandwiches on Sunday. Runners may establish personal setups near the course, utilize one registered pacer, and traverse the loop continuously through day and night. The event emphasizes the buckle-race aspect, with 100-mile finishers receiving buckles, and a portion of the proceeds benefits local organizations such as the Forest Commission and the Veterans Museum.
