Foundations 4 Hope 5K - Trussville 2026

The Foundations 4 Hope 5K in Trussville begins and ends at the Trussville Entertainment District on Beech Street in Trussville, Alabama. This event features a chipped-time 5K run or walk, a Kids Fun Run, and a three-person Jerry Can 5K Relay, in addition to the standard 3.1-mile race. The relay is the unique element: each team must carry a water-filled Jerry can for the entire 5K. Men's teams carry a 5-gallon can, weighing 42 pounds, while women's teams carry a 3-gallon can, weighing 25 pounds. Runners may hold the can in any manner they prefer, but straps and additional attachments are prohibited. A team's official time is recorded only when its final member crosses the finish line.
