Frozen Fun Run 2026

The Frozen Fun Run is a chip-timed 5K in Le Mars, Iowa. The race begins and ends at the Olson Cultural Event Center on 1st Street Northeast. It is held as part of the four-day Ice Cream Days event, giving it the feel of a community festival race rather than a typical road 5K. Runners and walkers are welcome. Shirts or tank tops can be purchased, and awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as to age-group leaders. The route goes from downtown into residential Le Mars before reaching a recreation trail. Volunteers will direct traffic as streets remain open during the event. For safety, headphones are discouraged, and young children must be accompanied by an adult. A unique element is the ice-cream theme: volunteers distribute free Bomb Pops on the course, snacks are available at the finish, and the Ice Cream Days parade begins nearby after the race.
