About this race
Gene's Run is a race weekend in Morgantown, West Virginia, held at the historic Gene's Beer Garden on Wilson Avenue. It begins Friday evening with Morgantown's beer mile, open to solo runners or relay teams of two or four. Saturday morning features a 5k run through Greenmont and South Park. The event also offers Gene's Supreme and Gene's '44.
The weekend has strong ties to Greenmont, extending beyond the start line. Participants reconvene at Gene's Beer Garden post-race, and the Saturday evening Greenmont Neighborhood Block Party continues the family-oriented activities. The WVU Track Club organizes this nonprofit event, directing proceeds to Empty Bowls of Monongalia County. Volunteers support both the race and the neighborhood.
