About this race
GOATz Trail Runs is a fall trail race series at Glenn Cunningham Lake in northwest Omaha, Nebraska, offering distances from 5 miles to 50 miles. All races begin and end on the grass near the marina and boat ramp. The series is organized by the Greater Omaha Area Trail-Runnerz. The 50K marks Omaha’s original 50K, and the series now includes a 50-miler for those seeking a longer lap-based ultra.
The primary loop measures 10.5 miles. Runners complete one lap for the 10.5-mile race, two for 21 miles, three for the 50K, and five for the 50-mile race. The 5-mile option utilizes a shorter lap. The course is almost entirely trail and grass, featuring fast, flat running on primarily single-track equestrian trails. Course markings include arrows, tape, and ground indicators. Participants have access to two fully stocked buffet-style aid stations and two unmanned water stops, with space for drop bags near the main aid station. Spectators can view the race from the marina area. Proceeds benefit local trail maintenance, community projects, cross-country teams, and other GOATz initiatives. Finishers are awarded a commemorative prize before the post-run gathering.
