About this race

The Healthy Kids Running Series in Greater Lafayette, Indiana, offers a five-week program with a weekly race day for children from Pre-K through 8th grade. High school runners compete in a separate 2-mile race. Distances are tailored to age groups, featuring 50- and 75-yard dashes, plus quarter-mile, half-mile, and 1-mile races. Participants earn points weekly based on their finish, providing a season-long score without emphasizing speed exclusively. The series organizes participants by school age: Kindergarten and 1st Grade, 2nd and 3rd Grade, 4th and 5th Grade, 6th to 8th Grade, and High School. A Challenger Division offers an adaptive 75-yard race for children with disabilities or special needs, allowing the use of support devices like crutches, braces, or wheelchairs. Family and friends can accompany runners in this division. Full-series registration includes weekly bibs, a runner shirt, a finisher medal, and sponsor items. On-site registration is available before each race, with an option to upgrade to the full series. All participants receive a medal in the final week, and top finishers in each division receive trophies.
