About this race
The Hell's Canyon Gruel Duathlon Doc Sears Fall Classic offers three events: two run-bike-run duathlons and an 8K fun run. Both duathlons begin with a 4K run, after which participants ride on Tammany Creek Road. Racers can compete individually or as two-person teams, with one member completing both runs and the other handling the bike leg.
The short duathlon combines the initial 4K run with a 21K out-and-back bike course and a subsequent 4K run. The bike turnaround for this event is located at the stop sign where Tammany and Thain roads intersect. The long duathlon follows the same opening 4K run but extends the bike leg to 37K, turning around at the intersection of Tammany Creek Road, Waha Road, and Webb Road, and concludes with an 8K run. The 8K fun run is also an out-and-back course, using the same turnaround point as the long duathlon's final run. Sheriff's Posse members will assist with traffic management at the bike turnaround points, and team racers will tag each other outside the bike transition zone.
