Highland Falls Annual 4th of July Firecracker 5K and Children’s Fun Run

The Highland Falls Annual 4th of July Firecracker 5K and Children’s Fun Run is a holiday morning race in Highland Falls, New York. Runners and walkers start at 8:00 AM near the Dunkin Donuts on Main Street. The main event is a 3.1-mile 5K, and the course is relatively flat and fast. It runs rain or shine. Packet pickup is at the Gazebo on the corner of Main and Mountain Avenue either the evening before or early on race morning. The finish is at Mountain Avenue and Main Street, making the Gazebo area the hub for pickup and race-day activity. The event is for a broad local field: walkers are included, awards go three deep in male and female age groups from 14 and under through 80 and over, and top overall male and female runners receive prizes. The Children’s Fun Run follows after the last 5K runner or walker finishes, and kids do not need to register.
