About this race
Hill of a Race is an obstacle-style race series held at Ewing Park II in Bloomington, Illinois. The event uses a wave start system instead of a single mass start. Now in its tenth year, the series offers separate Competitive Men's and Women's races, Master's divisions for racers age 40 and over, Recreational waves, and a longer Endurance Challenge. Competitive racers begin the day, followed by Recreational groups starting every ten minutes. An additional Recreational wave may open if initial slots fill.
The Endurance Challenge features a four-hour window for participants to complete as many laps as possible, with the winner determined by total laps. Endurance racers may bypass obstacle lines to maintain the pace of the lap-count contest. Awards for the competitive divisions are presented before the endurance race concludes, and the Endurance Challenge winner receives a championship belt after the four-hour period ends.
