About this race
Hustle For Habitat is a summer race day at Dunvilla Trap Range in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, with two options: the chip-timed Rooster Run 5K and the untimed 1 Mile Strut. The shorter event starts first, the 5K follows, and both are open to all ages. Pelican River Pheasants Forever hosts the event, and proceeds go back into local habitat conservation projects, including the chapter’s Conservation Education program.
The 5K runs mostly on grassy trail through farm habitat, with river views, pollinator fields, and a section that now moves onto gravel road after the water stop. The 1 Mile Strut stays on grassy trail beside farmland, crosses a field, and loops around the pollinator garden. The setup is closer to a trail run than a road race, so runners should expect uneven farm ground rather than pavement. Finishers get snacks and cold drinks, 5K finishers receive medals, 1 Mile finishers receive participation awards, and the day continues with awards, music, food, and beverages.
