About this race
The "I Can" Triathlon in Troy, Ohio, is an adapted event for children aged 4 to 16 with diverse abilities. It takes place in the morning, with participants lining up shortly before the start. Children do not need to reside in Miami County to participate. The event is designed with support in mind: participants receive assistance as needed, and the course is modified to suit each child's capabilities, avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach.
The run, walk, walker, gait trainer, or roll portion takes place in Hobart Arena Parking Lot #1. The bike or tryke segment is in Hobart Arena Parking Lot #2, and the swim is held at Troy Aquatic Park. Each child must be accompanied by a parent, relative, or friend throughout the triathlon. Trykes are available upon advance request, with a limited selection of sizes. The entry fee covers a T-shirt, medal, goodie bag, and a family pool party. Proceeds benefit Miamibucs, a nonprofit organization that supplies Amtrykes to individuals with disabilities in Miami County.
