About this race
Jackson County Ultras is a cold-weather trail race held at PYOCA Camp and Retreat Center in Brownstown, Indiana. It offers 10-mile, 50K, 100K, and 100K relay options. The 100K covers approximately 62 miles with about 9,270 feet of climbing and 9,196 feet of descent, presenting a true ultramarathon challenge rather than a flat, fast course. All distances are single-lap events with a shared 24-hour cutoff. DINO LLC organizes the race, providing live tracking for the 100K and relay, with results posted via Ultrasignup and RunSignUp.
The race contrasts a demanding outdoor course with a comfortable base camp. PYOCA provides runners and crews with heated indoor facilities for drop bags, showers, sleeping, dining, and socializing. Optional weekend cabin and meal packages are available. 100K finishers receive belt buckles, and all participants get finisher medals and age-group awards. Post-race food, served from noon to midnight, includes chili, vegan and gluten-free soup, sandwiches, hummus pita, vegetables, salad, chips, and drinks. The event aims to establish the 100K as the Midwest's only Western States qualifying race, requiring 100 finishers at that distance to achieve this status.
