Krul Lake Half Marathon

The Krul Lake Half Marathon is a trail half marathon held on a Saturday morning at Krul Lake Recreation Area, located in Blackwater River State Forest near Milton in the Florida Panhandle. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. Central time, with a 11:30 a.m. cutoff, aligning with its reputation as a challenging trail run in Florida. The start and finish lines are situated near the Krul Lake picnic area at 11089 Krul Lake Road, meaning the event takes place within the forest recreation area, not on a town-street course. The course winds through tall long-leaf pines, leading runners back to the lake and picnic area for the finish. Prizes are awarded to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top two individuals in each ten-year age category. Post-race activities include Hot Spot BBQ, an awards ceremony, and a lake jump, contributing to a family-friendly park day atmosphere rather than a brief race event. Participants can pick up their race packets in Pensacola the day prior or at the venue on race morning.
