Lake Davidson Sprint Triathlon

The Lake Davidson triathlon is suitable for all levels. The 750-meter swim starts in the water, with water temperatures typically in the low 80s, meaning wetsuits are seldom permitted. The rectangular course, in a protected lake area, is usually flat and wind-sheltered. The 12.7-mile bike course bypasses downtown Davidson, traversing moderately hilly rural roads in far north Mecklenburg County, featuring a few significant hills. The 5K run on campus is also somewhat hilly with many turns; shade is limited if conditions are hot.
