Last Chance Triathlon 2026

The Last Chance Triathlon is a short triathlon held entirely at the Mattoon Area Family YMCA, with all segments beginning and ending at the facility. The course consists of a 275-yard indoor pool swim, a 12-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run. This format is suitable for first-time triathletes and offers experienced racers a complete swim-bike-run challenge. The indoor pool start eliminates open-water concerns, and the central YMCA location simplifies race-day logistics. The schedule includes packet pickup, an orientation for new participants, open pool time before the race, a pre-race meeting in the pool area, and awards presented in the afternoon. Helmets are mandatory for the bike segment, and headphones are prohibited. The event uses USAT rules for guidance, though it is not officially sanctioned. Awards will be given to the overall male and female finishers, the top two in each men's and women's age group, and the top two teams.
